Programs at the Peace Corner

Summer Youth Employment Program

The Peace Corner Youth Center partners with the City of Chicago and Catholic Charities to offer the Summer Youth Employment Program, which is a six-week employment and job-readiness training program for low-income, high-risk youth throughout the City of Chicago. Youth are provided with mentors and role models, paid work experiences, and opportunities to reinforce a strong work ethic.

Our Programs

After School Programming

The Peace Corner offers after school programming for youth ages 6-17, five days a week. Students begin their time here with a nutritious snack, followed by required homework completion overseen by adult mentors.

Summer Programming

In a typical non-pandemic year, The Peace Corner Summer Program is open to neighborhood youth all day for six weeks during the summer. Children are provided with healthy snacks and lunch and enjoy athletics, academic enrichment, community service projects, field trips, guest speakers and more.
